Rising Junior Point Guard Stella Ziogas Garners Offer from Rider Broncs Hoops

Stella Ziogas of New Rochelle High School and Team Lightning Melious has picked up an offer from Division I Rider Broncs University Women’s basketball program, today her AAU coach Dan Melious wrote on X.

Stella Ziogas earns an offer from New Jersey’s Rider University basketball program.

In addition to the Rider offer, Ziogas holds offers from McNeese State, Sacred Heart, FDU, Weber State, Nichols State, Chicago State, among interest from other schools, according to her coach.

Ziogas is a 5-foot-6 rising junior point guard who just came off a stellar AAU season with the Lightning.

Melious could not say enough positive, glowing things about his young star after an impressive performance on the hardwood during the AAU campaign.

“From day one, Stella has taken the badge of being that kid and that’s why she was invited to John Lucas (Top 160 camp),” Melious said. “Stella is special because she dominates games on both ends. She plays full court defense, handles ball, scores and makes her team better just by being on the court.”

The Broncs posted a 10-21 overall mark and went 6-14 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action in the 2023-24 campaign.
