Taj Bryant Commits to Sacred Heart University Pioneers Men’s Basketball Program

Class of 2024 The Patrick School (N.J.) and PSA Cardinals point guard Taj Bryant has committed to Division I Sacred Heart University Pioneers Men’s basketball program, yesterday multiple basketball media outlets wrote on X.

The thought among high school basketball insiders was that Bryant might reclassify into the 2025 class, but he ended that speculation when he picked the Connecticut college.

Taj Bryant chooses D-1 Sacred Heart hoops over six other schools.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Queens, N.Y., native held D-1 offers from Holy Cross, LIU, La Moyne, Portland, Robert Morris and NJIT, according to VerbalCommis.com.

Last season, Bryant suited up for the Celtics, scoring 115 points, grabbing 41 rebounds, dishing out 40 assists and making 15 steals in 12 games played. He is a prototypical point guard who makes his teammates better and gets off well on the run in transition.

Bryant played for Eagle Academy II (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and helped pace the Eagles to a Public School Athletic League (PSAL) championship two years ago.

The Pioneers put up a 16-16 overall record and went 10-6 in the Northeast Conference (NEC) in the 2023-24 campaign.

However, Sacred Heart will move over to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) this upcoming season.
