With Aerosmith’s recent announcement of retiring from touring due to iconic lead singer Steven Tyler’s vocal cord injury, fans of the band are left with a gaping hole in their love for seeing and hearing the Boston-formed group’s music live.
Enter Pump, an Aerosmith tribute band, the next best thing for its rocking faithful.
While Tyler’s vocal injury has made a lot of people sad and disappointed, Pump’s bass player Frank Tassielli said the announcement did not shock him, given how long he has been singing, and Aerosmith’s grueling past touring schedule.
He added that he is glad to have seen the group play not too long ago, and to live in the time of the legendary, generational band.
“I’m not surprised, people are not surprised,” Tassielli said. “I’m just thankful to see them play at Fenway Park in 2022. We should all be happy that we were born in the era to see them.”
To continue Aerosmith’s legacy, Pump will be playing numerous shows, starting in middle of this summer, all the way through August 21st, 2025, in New Jersey.
Thursday, August 8th (Radio Daze)
Tassielli, Pump’s hard-working bass guitarist and booker/promoter, also helps other bands land gigs.
One of those groups is Radio Daze, a Brooklyn-based 80s pop cover band, who will be playing at Raynor Park (174 Ronkonkoma Ave, Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island) this Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. — weather permitting, of course.

Also, Nightlife, a fantastic Foreigner tribute band, hits the stage at Veterans Memorial Park ( 81 Hunt Road, Orangeburg, N.Y.).
Tassielli helped book both aforementioned bands.
