West Los Angeles College’s Blake Lander Joins LIU Brooklyn Basketball


Class of 2024 West Los Angeles College (JUCO/Calif.) guard Blake Lander has committed to Division I Long Island University (LIU Brooklyn) Men’s basketball program, he recently announced via X.

Blake Lander headed to Brooklyn to play hoops for LIU.

Additionally, the 6-foot-5, 205-pound Beverly Hills, Calif., native held offers from D-II Hawaii-Hilo and D-I South Carolina State, per VerbalCommits.com.

Lander averaged 13.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 31 contests as a sophomore at West Los Angeles. He also shot 48.6 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Prior to West Los Angeles, Lander attended D-III Whittier College, Prolific Prep of Napa Christian (post-graduate) and Beverly Hills High School.

The Sharks posted a 7-22 overall record and went 6-10 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play in the 2023-24 season.
