Tylor Megill Deals, Brett Baty Leads Syracuse Offensive Charge with Home Run and 2 RBI


Pitcher Tylor Megill (3-0) recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in 7.2 innings of work today, as the Salt Potatoes (Triple-A Syracuse Mets/65 – 53) defeated the Rochester Plates (Rochester Redwings/Minnesota Twins/65 – 53) as part of the “Duel of the Dishes,” winning the eight-foot Golden Fork trophy in the process at Frontier Field.

Second baseman Brett Baty, 24, led the Syracuse offensive charge with a 3-5 day with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and seven total bases. He has smacked three longballs, all 400 feet or more, in his last three games.

Right fielder Jackie Bradley, Jr. went 2-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, while third baseman Pablo Reyes also went 2-4 with an RBI and run scored in the victory.

The Mets return home on Tuesday to play the Durham Bulls ( Tampa Bay Rays) at 6:35 p.m.
