The Lexington Legends of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) have signed former MLB right-handed pitcher Kyle Cody to a contract, bringing him back to where to he played college baseball, yesterday the team announced via X.
Cody, 30, pitched for four teams in the San Francisco Giants’ system, going 6-2 with a 4.88 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 31.1 innings of work in 24 games in 2024.
At the MLB level, Cody posted a 1-3 mark with a 3.71 ERA and 32 punchouts in 34 frames in 15 contests in parts of two seasons (2020, 2021) with the Texas Rangers.
The Rangers selected Cody in the 6th round of the 2016 MLB June Amateur Draft out of the University of Kentucky. where he posted a 6-2 record with 3.35 ERA in four years at the school.
The Legends host the York Revolution today at 6:45 p.m. at Legends Field.
