The New York Mets have promoted shortstop Boston Baro and catcher Ronald Hernandez from the Low-A Single St. Lucie Mets to the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones, today St. Lucie announced on X.
Baro, the Mets’ 16th ranked prospect, was hitting .288 with four home runs, 42 RBI, 16 doubles and four triples in 328 at- bats, while Hernandez was batting .271 with five longballs with 41 RBI, 41 runs scored, 12 two-baggers and two triples in 351 at-bats.
New York picked Baro in the eighth round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of Capistrano Valley High School, while Hernandez, the Mets’ 26th rated prospect, signed with the Marlins for $850,000 out of Venezuela in January 2021.
Additionally, Hernandez, along with shortstop Marco Vargas, came over in the deal for reliever David Robertson in 2023.
