Carson Benge Leads St. Lucie Mets to Victory with Stellar Performance

Carson Benge enjoyed himself a fantastic day, going 3 for 4 with a home run, double, single, walk, three RBI and two runs scored in the Single-A St. Lucie Mets’ 10-7 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads (25-29, 61-59/Miami Marlins) Wednesday afternoon at Clover Park in Florida State League (FSL) play.

Benge, the New York Mets’ fifth-rated prospect and 2024 first round pick, connected for a first-inning, two-run home run over the left-centerfield wall, the second time in two consecutive games, for a 2-0 advantage.

Carson Benge goes deep again.

Down 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh, St. Lucie (20-34, 42-78) exploded for six runs to take a commanding 10-5 lead.

The two teams meet again Thursday at 6:10 p.m. at Clover Park.
