The New York Mets organization has promoted Trey Snyder, a shortstop out of Liberty North High School in Missouri, to the low-level Single-A St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League (FSL), today St. Lucie announced via X.
Snyder–a fifth-round 2024 MLB Draft selection, 144th overall–becomes the first Mets high school pick to reach St. Lucie the same year he was drafted.
New York initially assigned Snyder to the Florida Complex League (FCL) Mets.
Synder enjoyed quite the remarkable high school baseball career. He earned the 2024 Missouri High School Gatorade Player of the Year Award, the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings High School selected him to the All-America Team, and he earned an All-Region team pick in Region 5, according to a source.
