Class of 2027 Newark Arts High School (N.J.) shooting guard Mekhi Jean-Pierre has received an offer from Division I University of South Alabama Men’s basketball program, his high school coach, Prophet Kates – Price yesterday wrote on X.
The South Alabama offer was the first for the 6-foot-5 sophomore, according to a source.
Kates – Price has described Jean-Pierre as a “lights out shooter from behind the arch and can create off the dribble with the best of them. His ability to guard multiple positions is what I love,” per X.
The USA Jaguars posted a 16-16 mark and went 8-10 in Sun Belt Conference (SBC) action in the 2023-24 campaign.
