Class of 2025 Bergen Catholic High School (N.J.) forward Declan Wucherpfennig has committed to Division I Fairfield University Men’s basketball program, today he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The 6-foot-7 senior held offers from D-1 NJIT, Hofstra, Stony Brook, Fairfield, Siena, Northeastern, Drexel, New Hampshire, Bryant, Stonehill, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Holy Cross, Loyola Maryland and Merrimack, according to VerbalCommits.com
A well-rounded player with growing potential, Wucherpfennig poured in an average of 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal per contest while shooting 62 percent from the field. At the foul line, he sank 75 percent of his attempts and nailed 40 percent of his shots from beyond the arc this past campaign with Bergen Catholic.
A wonderful student, he also sports an impressive 3.9 GPA.
The Stags put up a 24-13 overall record and went 14-6 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action in the 2023-24 campaign.
