The New York Mets have announced their Organizational Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, in outfielder Nick Morabito and Brandon Sproat, today the Brooklyn Cyclones announced via X, formally Twitter.
Morabito, the Mets’ second draft pick in 2022, batted a combined .312 with 142 hits, four home runs, 32 RBI and 59 stolen bases in 455 at-bats in 119 games over two stops at Low-A St. Lucie and the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones this past season.
Also, the 21-year-old set Cyclones’ franchise records in hits with 111 and stolen bases with 48 in 95 contests.
Meanwhile, the right-handed Sproat, New York’s second round draft selection in 2023, combined to post a 7-4 record with a 3.40 ERA in 24 games across three levels in 2024.
Additionally, the 24-year-old struck out 131 batters in 116.1 innings of work.
