Class of 2025 Sierra Canyon School (Calif.) guard Gavin Hightower has verbally committed to Division I Iona College Gaels Men’s basketball program, yesterday media outlets reported.
Hightower held offers from Long Beach State, California, UC Riverside, Loyola Marymount, UC Santa Barbara, Sacramento State, New Mexico, High Point, Arkansas State, among other schools, per VerbalCommits.com.
High School basketball insiders consider the 6-foot-1 Hightower to be an impact high school player, as he is a proven scorer and a high character guy who is known to drop buckets in the clutch.
Hightower previously attended Windward High School in Los Angeles, Calif.
Iona posted a 16-17 mark and went 10-10 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action in the 2023-24 campaign.
