Anthony DeVito Commits to D2 Florida Tech Baseball Program

Newsome High School (Fla.) Wolves senior infielder Anthony DeVito has verbally committed to Division II Florida Tech Baseball program, today he announced via X, formerly known as Twitter.

DeVito, who also plays for the Ostingers travel baseball team, holds ties to New York City, as his mom, Debbie, lived in Staten Island.

High school baseball scouts have been high on the 5-foot-9, 175-pounder due to his solid swing mechanics and ability to elevate the ball in the air. As DeVito fills out, theoretically, he should add more pop to his bat, scouts believe.

Additionally, he owns nice range, soft hands and a strong arm at the shortstop position.

He is also the cousin of Staten Island high school basketball star and Northwestern University Wildcats commit Angelina Hodgens.

The Panthers posted a 17-33 overall record and went 8-22 in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action in the 2024 campaign.
