Brooklyn’s St. Joseph’s Women’s Hoops Offers Marshwood HS Forward Sarah Theriault

Division III St. Joseph’s University Brooklyn Women’s basketball program has offered class of 2025 Sarah Theriault of Marshwood High School in Maine, today head coach Joe Giacchi told me.

Giacchi said he is excited over the prospect of the 5-foot-9 forward possibly taking her hardwood talents to Brooklyn. He said she will add special dimensions to the Bears’ hoops program, not to mention an outstanding athletic ability.

“(She’s) versatile with good length,” Giacchi said of Theriault. “(She) has a great outside shot and will open the floor for us as well as able to guard multiple positions.”

Theriault captured the Girl’s Seacoast Player of the Year Award in an online poll conducted last season.

Theriault averaged a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds, to go along with three steals and 2.5 assists per game and shot 68 percent from the free throw line.

She also plays two other sports, lacrosse and soccer.

The Bears posted a 5-20 overall record and went 4-15 in Skyline Conference action in the 2023-24 campaign.
