Iona Prep’s Steven Dowdy, Jr. has earned an offer from Division I Long Island University (LIU) Brooklyn football program, yesterday he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Dowdy, a 6-foot, 170-pound senior wide receiver, previously verbally committed to Sacred Heart University in early October. But no other information was available, on if, or when, he de-committed.
A Bronx, N.Y., native, Dowdy is a fast and elusive play-making receiver who owns good hands, and makes would-be tacklers flat out miss. He also catches the ball in traffic and makes solid yardage out of what should have been a short gain.
Additionally, Dowdy can take the ball in the backfield and run for significant yardage.

The Sharks are 1-6 overall and 1-1 in Northeast Conference (NEC) action so far this season.
