Southwest Mississippi CC, Former South Shore Player Tylik Weeks Earns Offers from Hofstra, New Mexico Hoops


Hofstra and New Mexico State Men’s basketball programs have offered class of 2025 Southwest Mississippi Community College (Ms.) guard/forward Tylik Weeks, today VerbalCommits.com wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The 6-foot-7, 235-pound New Yorker holds several D-1 offers including Fairfield, Gardner-Webb, Cal State Bakersfield, Queens (NC), Bowling Green, Florida A&M, among other programs, per VerbalCommits.com.

Weeks appeared in all 30 contests with 28 starts with the Bears as a freshman. He averaged 17.2 points and 8.2 rebounds–both second on team–to go along with 2.1 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest. He earned MACCC Second Team All-Conference honor and was named a Fab 50 Freshman.  

Weeks attended Brooklyn Theater Arts High School at South Shore in Brooklyn, where he averaged 7.7 points and 7.25 rebounds in 12 regular season PSAL games. In the playoffs, he added 19 points in seven tilts.

The Pride posted a 20-13 overall record and went 12-6 in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) conference action in the 2023-24 campaign.
