St. Joseph’s University of Brooklyn Women’s Division III basketball program players have swept the Skyline Conference hoop awards, as sophomore Mercedes Perez and freshman Nikki Grech have captured Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week awards, respectively, today the team announced on social media.
Perez posted 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor. She added four rebounds, a pair of assists, and a steal to her stat sheet in the Bears’ opening season 92-35 victory over City College, N.Y. Grech contributed nine points, pulled down a team-best eight rebounds and made two thefts.
St. Joseph will face City Universe of New York (CUNY) Athletic Conference 2023-24 champions Brooklyn College at 5 p.m. on the road.
