Class of 2025 Arianna Mercado of East New York Family Academy (Brooklyn) and the Bay State Jaguars 17U teams is heading to Williamsburg, Virginia, to study and play basketball at Division I College of William & Mary, today she announced via X, formerly known as Twitter.
Additionally, Mercado, who also plays for the Dominican Republic National Basketball Team, held offers from Towson and Central Connecticut State before committing to the Tribe, according to a source.
The senior dynamic combo guard averaged a team-high 28.16 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.77 assists per game in 13 regular season PSAL contests during the 2023-24 campaign.
In the post-season, Mercado average 21.40 points, 3.6 boards and 6.6 helpers per game in five tilts, leading the Lady Eagles (12-2) to the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) 1A Girl’s finals against perennial powerhouse South Shore, which they lost, 69-26, at St. John’s University.
William & Mary is getting a gifted player, one who can score, lead on the hardwood and facilitate to her teammates. Plus, she is tough as nails.

The Tribe posted a 15-14 overall record and went 12-6 in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) action in the 2023-24 campaign.
