Offseason Moves: Mets Ink Reetz, Meneses, Harris to Minor League Deals


In moves to bolster their minor league depth, the New York Mets have announced the signings of catcher/outfielder Jakson Reetz, first baseman Joey Meneses and right-handed pitcher Hobie Harris to minor league deals, SNY recently wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Reetz, 28, spent 2024 with the San Francisco Giants, where played in six games and had a double, home run, a walk and an RBI in 14 at-bats. He also hit .254 with five longballs and 34 RBI in 197 at bats in 58 contests with the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats.

Meneses, 32, suited up for the Washington Nationals, hitting ,231 with three home runs and 42 RBI in 281 at-bats last season. In 2023, he slugged 13 dingers and drove in 89 RBI.

The Mexican native is currently playing winter ball in the Mexican Pacific League (MPL), where he has been putting up solid numbers, leading his team with seven home runs and 32 RBI while batting .347.

Harris had pitched in 44 contests with the Triple-A St. Paul Saints in the Minnesota system in 2024. Also, the 31-year-old had appeared in 16 games for the Nationals in 2023 with a 5.12 ERA.

The New York Yankees selected Harris in the 31st round, 933rd overall, in the 2015 Amateur MLB Draft.
