Caldwell University’s Women’s basketball program’s own Irish rose, Lucy Coogan led the way for the Cougars, as the guard/forward registered a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in the team’s 80-52 Division II victory over the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans (1-5) at the Newman Center Tuesday night.
Graduate student guard/forward Sophia DeMauro contributed 19 points, while senior guard KJ Gordon added eight points in the victory.
Caldwell (3-3) made half its shots from the field and sank .435 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc. Also, the Cougars held a slight 38-36 rebounding advantage over the Spartans.
The Cougars will wrap up their three-game homestand when they start their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play against Felician University in a “Cougars Around Campus” Game! next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at home.
