Morris Catholic High School (N.J.) continues to prove why it one of the best basketball teams in New Jersey and arguably in the nation, as it ran roughshod over East New York Family Academy (Brooklyn, N.Y.), 69-26, Saturday at the Brick City Showcase in Newark.
A loaded squad top to bottom, senior Mya Pauldo led all scorers with 20 points, while sophomore Jax Edelman followed with 17 for the Crusaders (3-0). Senior Mia Pauldo dropped in 13 points with four assists and three steals. Junior Kennedy Brown contributed 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Mya also had six helpers and four thefts, and Edelman added four boards in the lopsided victory.
Senior Arianna Mercado, who is committed to William & Mary, poured in a team-high nine points for East New York Family Academy (6-1–PSAL, 7-4).
