On Sunday, February 16th, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., two former New York Mets — infielder Edgardo Alfonzo and outfielder Endy Chavez — will be appearing at Woodbridge Brewing Co. (33 Main Street, Woodbridge, New Jersey).
A ticket for Alfonzo is $79.00, and a ticket for Chavez is $49.00. But a combination of both players’ autographs on the same item of your chosen is $99.00, which also includes photo opportunities.
Attendees must bring their own item(s) for the players to autograph, and all tickets are non-refundable.
Alfonzo, 51, played eight seasons with the Mets, three with the San Francisco Giants and parts of one year with the Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim and Toronto Blue Jays, for a total of 12 in MLB.
The Mets Hall of Famer combined to slug .284 with 146 home runs and drive in 744 RBI during that time span.
But it was his clutch performance that has made him a New York icon, belting a game- winning home run in the 1999 one-game National League Wild Card playoff contest against the Cincinnati Reds.
The next night against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first game of the Division Series, Alfonzo smacked a two-run shot to center field, and then a tie-breaking grand slam in the ninth inning, which eventually won the tilt for the Mets.
Chavez, known for his legendary catch in Game 7 of the 2006 National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the St. Louis Cardinals, played three years with New York. The 46-year-old batted .288 with six longballs and 71 RBI in his time with the club. He spent a total of 13 years in MLB.
Alfonzo and Chavez both coached for the Brooklyn Cyclones, with Alfonzo leading the team to a New York Penn League (NYPL) Championship in 2019 as the manager.
