Bella Nascimento, Cassidy Geddes Star in William & Mary Hoops’ Win Over Monmouth


William & Mary Women’s basketball traveled to New Jersey and upended Monmouth, 83-74, Sunday afternoon at the OceanFirst Bank Center in West Long Branch.

Senior guard Bella Nascimento scored a game-leading-tying 27 points, while sophomore guard Cassidy Geddes followed with 26 points.

The Tribe (5-10) also had two other players — senior Anahi-Lee Cauley (12 points, four rebounds) and junior forward Kayla Rolph (10 points, five boards) — who recorded double digit points.

6-foot-4 freshman forward Natalie Fox, who played hoops at Millbrook High School in New York, and for Team Lightning Melious AAU squad, scored three points and pulled eight rebounds in just 17 minutes of action.

Damaris Rodriguez led the Hawks (7-8) with 27 points, while Taisha Exanor contributed 14 points and grabbed a contest-best 11 boards in the defeat.

William & Mary travels to Northeastern next Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
