PSAL Boys Basketball: Frederick Douglass and Bedford Academy Pick Up Wins


With the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) regular season nearing an end soon, two of the Boys top basketball teams in the association picked up wins Monday night to help set them up for better playoff positions.

Frederick Douglass Academy (Manhattan) used three players who scored in double digits, including a game-best 20 points from senior Ryan Blao, to rout HS For Math, Science and Engineering @ CCNY (0-10), 68-14, Monday night at home.

Seniors Antonio Hilton and Shamaqri Johnson dropped in 10 points apiece in the Lions’ victory, their 12th on the season against zero losses.

Three other players recorded six points Frederick Douglass Academy.

Bedford Academy Vs. Brooklyn High School Law & Technology

Senior Dakota Harrison drained 22 points and added four assists, as Bedford Academy High School (8-3) outlasted Brooklyn High School for Law & Technology (6-5), 75-67, Monday at I.S. 383.

Junior Levi Dougherty contributed 16 points and three helpers, while senior Robert Phelps added 13 points.
