Senior forward Amaya Ross drained a double-double of 21 points and 22 rebounds to go along with five blocks to help New Dorp High School (Staten Island, N.Y.) dismantle host New Utrecht, 79-46, in non-league action Monday night in Brooklyn.
The 6-foot-1 Ross, who also suits up for Team Lightning Melious AAU squad, is averaging 11.60 points, 12.20 boards and 1.70 assists per game through 10 Division 4A Public School Athletic League (PSAL) contests in the 2024-25 season.
The Central Cougars currently sit in first place in the Division 4A Conference with a 11-1 league record, with their only defeat coming at the hands of Tottenville to start the year.
