Long Island City High School’s (Queens, N.Y.) Billy Fuiaxis has picked up an offer from St. Thomas Aquinas College’s sprint football team, today he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Sprint football is a full-contact, intercollegiate, varsity sport and has the same rules as regular college football, except that all players must weigh 178.0 pounds or less, and nine players on each side play at the same time.
Fuiaxis also holds offers from Division III Hartwick and Nassau Community College.
The hard-nosed senior played the running back, wide receiver and linebacker positions, becoming a vital part of the Bulldogs team during his time.
Fuiaxis scored five touchdowns on the ground and then pulled down three scores in the air during the regular season. He also returned eight kickoffs for 289 yards (36.13 average). Then, the senior returned three more kickoffs for 122 yards (40.67 average), with two going all the way in the Public School League Athletic (PSAL) playoffs.
Also, Fuiaxis threw for a TD in the post-season. Defensively, he made 29 tackles in the 2024-25 campaign.
Fuiaxis’ excellent kickoff efforts earned him the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) lead in average per return.
The Spartans posted a 1-6 record and went 1-3 in Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) action this past season.
