Brianna Deputy of Saint Dominic High School (N.Y.) and Team Lightning Melious has earned an offer from Hastings College Women’s Basketball of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), today she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Deputy had previously committed to Division III SUNY Maritime College before reopening her recruitment.
Deputy, an athletic senior guard, does several things well on the court. She is a skilled long-range shooter and gets to the rim with a burst of quickness and speed. She also draws defenses to her, giving her a chance to find an open teammate and threading the needle to give another player an opportunity at scoring a basket.
Deputy is also a tenacious defender who sports a high motor and knack to jump into lanes for the steal.
The Broncos are 19-6 overall and 14-5 in Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) action so far this season. Hastings is hosting Northwestern today.
