Behind five players scoring in double digits, Thomas Jefferson High School defeated Eagle Academy For Young Men II, 76-69, to claim the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Boy’s Brooklyn Borough Championship Saturday at Queens College.
The Eagles (12-2) jumped out to a five-point advantage in the first quarter. But the Orange Wave (14-0) dominated, outscoring Eagle Academy, 18-6, in the second period.
It was enough for Thomas Jefferson to survive an Eagle second half surge to walk away with the borough title.
Senior Connor Sprattley and junior Jahda Swann dropped in 14 points apiece, with Swann grabbing seven rebounds. Senior Nyqwan Morris and junior Trevor Lewis scored 13 points each, while senior Malachi Wilson contributed 11 points in the victory. Morris added five boards.
