Long Island Ducks Ink Former Pioneer Leaguers Braydon Nelson and Jack Lynch


The Long Island Ducks have added two players in pitcher Braydon Nelson and infielder Jack Lynch for the upcoming 2025 Atlantic League season, today the team announced via social media.

Ducks’ manager Lew Ford noted that each player performed well with their respective squads in the Pioneer League, and said they are ready and thrilled to do the same with Long Island this campaign.

“Both Braydon and Jack had strong seasons in the Pioneer League last year,” Ducks Manager Lew Ford said on LIDucks.com. “They are excited to compete in the Atlantic League, and we look forward to welcoming them to Long Island.”

In 2024, Nelson posted a 1-2 record, with four saves, and a 3.64 ERA in 22 tilts with the Oakland Ballers, while Lynch hit 11 home runs, drove in 71 runs, scored 58 runs, had 110 hits, 25 doubles, two triples, 35 walks and 10 stolen bases with the Great Falls Voyagers.

Nelson, a shortstop and third baseman, played six seasons of collegiate baseball, four at Ithaca College in New York (2018-21) and two at Manhattan University (2022-23).

Nelson hit a combined .294 with 12 homers, 125 RBI, 126 runs, 192 hits, 34 doubles, 11 triples, 82 walks, 35 stolen bases and a .817 OPS across his colligate baseball career.

Lynch appeared in 90 contests (33 starts), amassing a 20-11 mark with a 4.21 ERA, 14 saves and 307 strikeouts to 114 bases on balls across 305.2 innings pitched with St. Bonaventure University in New York (2018-19) and four at the University of Tampa (2020-23).
