in the battle of Staten Island teams, sophomore Grace Anderson drained a team-high 25 points in Tottenville High School Girl’s basketball’s 63-56 victory over host New Dorp (15-2) in the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Girl’s 4A Quarterfinals Tuesday night.
The Pirates advance to the semifinals for the first time in program history, as they sqaure off against East New York Family Academy Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at York College.
Anderson added seven rebounds and six assists in the win. Freshman Gabriella Ortiz contributed 13 points, six boards and four assists, while junior Araya Lichtman dropped in 11 points and eight rebounds for Tottenville (14-2).
The Central Cougars’ Jordanna Schrecker, a senior who is committed to Sacred Heart, scored a game-tying-high 25 points and added seven rebounds in the defeat.
