The Thomas Jefferson High School potent offensive duo of Connor Sprattley and Jahda Swann led the Orange Wave to a 97-71 lopsided victory over No. 8 Forest Hills in the PSAL Boy’s Class “4A” basketball quarterfinals Tuesday night at home in Brooklyn.
Sprattley, a senior, drained a game-high 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Swann, a junior, contributed a double-double of 20 points and 15 boards.
The top-seeded Thomas Jefferson led 25-20 in the first quarter. But it was the second period where the Orange Wave took command, outscoring the Rangers, 25-11, heading into the locker room ahead by a score of 50-31.
While Forest Hills scored 26 points to Thomas Jefferson’s 20 points, the Orange Wave still held a 70-57 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
But Thomas Jefferson put the game to bed with a commanding 27-14 fourth period.
Junior Trevor Lewis added 15 points, and senior Nyqwan Morris dropped in 14 points in the victory.
The Orange Wave will face No. 4 Thurgood Marshall, who beat Monroe, in the PSAL Boy’s Class 4A semifinals at a yet to be announced date and site.
