Neptune High School (N.J.) used a game-best 20 points and added seven rebounds from freshman Tyeera Howard to capture the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Assocation (NJSIAA) Central Jersey, Group 3 girl’s basketball tournament title over Red Bank Regional Friday night on the road.
Seniors Bre Evans and Christa Ramos, who also suited up for NJ Rise 17U Jansen, contributed 16 and 14 points, respectively in the championship game for the Scarlet Fliers (17-11).
Ramos added five rebounds, as well as Evans grabbing four.
Senior center Caroline Polloway scored a team-high 19 points, while junior guard Synai Blychanton added 16 points for the Bucs (19-10).
Neptune will square against Cherry Hill West Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the NJSIAA Group 3 Semifinal Round Tournament at Deptford High School.
