The Kane County Cougars have signed right-handed pitcher Jake Stevenson for the upcoming 2025 independent American Association, recently the league had announced via X, formerly known as Twitter.
Stevenson, 28, last pitched for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets in 2024. He posted a 3-1 record with a save in 29.2 innings of work in 29 games last season.
Also, Stevenson, a Waconia, Minnesota, native, pitched for the Cougars in 2022, going 1-0 with a 2.72 ERA in 9.2 frames in seven contests.
The Minnesota Gopher baseball alum pitched for the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates organization, too. He owns a 7-3 mark in 103.0 innings in 97 affiliated minor league games.
The Reds selected Stevenson in the 10th round of the 2019 MLB June Amateur Draft after graduating from the University of Minnesota.
Kane County will host opening night on Thursday, May 8th at 6:30 p.m. against the Sioux City Explorers.
