After enduring 402 games across six seasons in the New York Mets minor league system, catcher Hayden Senger became the 103rd former Brooklyn Cyclone (Low Single-A at the time) to make his MLB debut.
Senger, a non-roster spring training invitee who took a job working at Whole Foods during the off season, struck out in his first at bat in the Majors, with the Mets losing, 3-1, to the Houston Astros to open the 2025 MLB season.
A defensive-minded catcher, Senger spent two seasons (2018, 2021) in Brooklyn, hitting two home runs and 16 RBI in 111 at-bats in 33 games.
Overall, the soon to be 28-year-old cracked 23 longballs and 154 RBI in 1351 at-bats during his minor league career.
New York selected Senger in the 24th round (710th overall) of the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft out of Miami of Ohio.
