Third baseman Pablo Sandoval, nicknamed “Kung Fu Panda,” is set to return for another season with the Staten Island FerryHawks of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB), today the team announced on social media.
Sandoval, a 2012 World Series MVP, collected 118 hits, 10 home runs and 79 RBI in 120 of 126 games for the FerryHawks in 2024.
Sandoval, 38, has compiled a .278 batting average with 153 home runs and 639 RBI in 14 MLB seasons with the Giants (11 years), Boston Red Sox (three years) and Atlanta Braves two years).
Moreover, Sandoval, a two-time All-Star, has sparkled when it mattered most, totaling a .338 batting average with six longballs and 20 RBI in 157 at-bats in 42 postseason contests.
Additionally, he is a four-time World Series champion. Last year, Sandoval, a hot corner fielder, climb the bump and delivered 5.1 scoreless innings of work in September of 2024.
