Infielder Jack Reinheimer and outfielder Kevin Watson, Jr. have re-signed with the Gastonia Ghost Peppers for the upcoming 2025 independent Atlantic League season, today team general manager Brady Salisbury announced on X.
Reinheimer, 32, played with Gastonia last season, and since 2022, while Watson. Jr., 25, suited up for the Ghost Peppers in the 2024 campaign, batting .302 with an .877 OPS to go along with 40 stolen bases in 98 games.
Reinheimer leads Gastonia in all-time offensive categories such as hits with 267, doubles with 58, base thefts with 104, and runs with 193 in 236 contests, another team record, in three years with the franchise.
The Seattle Mariners picked the Charlotte, N.C., native in the fifth round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft out of East Carolina University (Greenville, N.C). He played with the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
The Diamondbacks selected Watson Jr. in the 18th round of the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft out of Beaverton High School in Beaverton, Oregon. He spent three years in Arizona’s system, and then an additional three seasons in the Anaheim Angels’ organization.
The Ghost Peppers host the York Revolution on Friday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. to kick off the 2025 Atlantic League season. You may purchase your Gastonia tickets by clicking the link above.
