The Atlantic Braves have signed catcher Colin Burgess, formerly of the Atlantic League’s Lexington Legends, yesterday the team announced via X.
Burgess hit .236 with a home run, nine RBI, four walks and six runs scored in 55 at-bats in 15 games with Lexington before the Braves purchased his contract.
He is now the 3rd Legends player this season to earn a contract with an MLB organization.
Burgess, 24, is a Lexington, Kentucky, native who attended Tates Creek High School in Lexington. After high school, he went to South Carolina before inking a free agent deal with the Detroit Tigers organization, where he spent two seasons within their minor league system.
