Class of 2025 Vermont Academy (Vt.) forward/center Zack Scherler has committed to Division I New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Men’s basketball program, yesterday he announced on X.
Additionally, Scherler held offers from UC Santa Barbara and Arizona State, according to VerbalCommits.com.
The 6-foot-11 Michigan native spent two seasons at Vermont Academy, where helped his squad reach the Final Four at the National Prep Championship this past season.
Now, Scherler will bring a strong and reliable presence down low in the post for the Highlanders for the 2025-26 college basketball year.
NJIT posted a 6-25 overall mark and went 3-13 in America East Conference (AEC) action in the 2024-25 campaign.
