New York Boulders’ left-handed pitcher Mason Olson has earned the Frontier League Pitcher of the Week honor after tossing nine scoreless innings of ball with nine strikeouts, one hit, and one walk this past week, yesterday the independent baseball league announced via X.
The 23-year-old Olson is enjoying a fantastic season thus far, going 3-0 with an impressive 1.13 ERA and 31 to 10 strikeouts-to-walks, respectively, in 32.0 innings of work in six games.
Olson–a Provo, Utah, native–pitched two years at Brigham Young University before turning pro. He also spent a summer with the State College Spikes of the MLB Draft League in 2022, recording a 3-0 record with a minuscule 0.28 ERA in 32.0 frames in eight game starts.
