Chatham High’s Sonny Arden Earns D3 Offer from Carnegie Mellon Football


Chatham Football (N.J.) rising senior cornerback/wide receiver Sonny Arden has picked up a Division III Carnegie Mellon University’s football program, today he wrote on X.

In addition to the Tartans’ offer, the 6-foot-0, 165-pound Arden holds one from Gettysburg, according to his X account. Also, he has attended several exposure camps and been on a number of visits to a variety of schools’ football programs.

Plus, Arden caught 29 receptions for 347 yards with two touchdowns on offense. Defensively, he made 20 overall tackles, had one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two blocked kicks, and two interceptions.

Moreover, Arden is an excellent student who sports a 1400 SAT score and a 4.2 GPA.

The Cougars should have a successful season, as many talented players have picked up recruiting interest, such as rising seniors Jase Catullo, Hunter Bigham, Dylan Arbernethy, Charlie Murray, among other Cougars, especially since coming off a 7-3 season and making it to the second round of the postseason in 2024.

Carnegie Mellon put up a 10-2 mark and went 9-1 in University Athletic Association (UAA) action in the 2024 campaign.
