The Kansas City Monarchs of the independent American Association have signed outfielder Christopher Familia, a former New Yankees minor leaguer, yesterday the league announced via X.
Familia, a 25-year-old Dominican Republic native, joins the Monarchs after spending six seasons in the Yankees’ system. He has already played in two contests with Kansas City, hitting a double in seven at-bats.
Familia appeared in six games with the Somerset Patriots (Double-A) before New York released him this year.
