After a tough Sunday, 2026 guard Stella Ziogas took upon herself to right the ship for Team Lightning Melious on Monday.
In the Lightning’s first game of the day, Ziogas drained 19 points, grabbed five rebounds, made five steals, and dished out five assists in a victory over Houston Rise at the Hoosier Heat Under Armour (UA) Rise Girl’s AAU basketball July Live Period event in Indiana.
Head coach Dan Melious said, “it was a great team effort in the win.”
In addition to Ziogas’ impressive performance, rising junior Lauren Leon contributed 16 points, seven boards, and two blocks, while class of 2027 Zoey Henry added 10 points, six helpers, five rebounds, five steals, and one block.
Plus, rising senior Giada ‘G’ Celetti was a monster on the glass with 14 rebounds, and menace on defense, rejecting eight shots in the triumph.
In the Lightning’s second tilt of the day, Ziogas, a Siena commit, did it again, pouring in 26 points, collecting seven boards, making five thefts, and handing out seven assists in a win over Canada B1ce.
Also, Celetti enjoyed a beast of a game, dropping in a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds along with five blocks.
TML currently sits at 6-3 in league play, and will return to action this Thursday at the UA Rise Finals at Spooky Nook in Manheim, Pa.
