Two Chatham High School (N.J.) rising senior football players — Caden Gabriele and Charlie Murray — have earned Division III offers from Denison University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) football programs, respectively, today both student-athletes wrote on X.
Additionally, Gabriele holds D III offers from Colby, Bates and Trinity, while Murray has offers from Rochester and Ursinus College under his belt at the moment.
Gabriele made waves in his junior season after he recorded an impressive 53 total stops (25 solos and eight for a loss), one sack, two forced fumbles, four interceptions, one of which went for a touchdown, per his X account.
Moreover, he sports an impressive 3.8 GPA and a 29 score on his ACT.
Murray, a 5-foot-10, 205-pound linebacker/tight end, made 66 tackles (second on the Cougars), five of which went for a loss last year. Plus, he is a powerful student-athlete who displays great lower body strength by squatting 455 pounds, and benches 270 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.77 seconds. Murray is a good combination of power, speed, and athletic ability.
Plus, Murray excels academically, earning induction into the National Honor Society (NHS) during his junior year. He is also a dedicated member of the Chatham community, actively supporting others—especially his peers—in becoming more engaged and responsible citizens.
Denison posted a 6-4 overall record and went 6-2 in North Coastal Athletic Conference (NCAC) action, while WPI put up a 6-4 overall mark and went 4-3 in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play in the 2024-25 campaign.
