The Rye High School Garnets (N.Y.) football used impressive performances from a trio of senior offensive players–quarterback Carson Boo Miller, wide receiver Henry Shoemaker, and running back Charlie Garnett — to rout Middletown (0-1), 63-20, in their season opener Friday night on the road.
Miller, a three-sport athlete (lacrosse and basketball), lead the charge by completing 11 of 12 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for a TD before getting pulled near the end of the first half.
Shoemaker, a Harvard commit, caught eight receptions for 166 yards and a TD.
Lastly, Garnett rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. He also registered a sack on defense, all of which was achieved before getting pulled late in the second quarter.
The Garnets (1-0) host Somers High School Friday at 7:00 p.m.
