Caleb Ourigou: Rising Basketball Star from Lawrence Woodmere Academy Picks Up Maryland Offer

Class of 2027 Lawrence Woodmere Academy (Long Island, N.Y.) forward Caleb Ourigou has received an offer from University of Maryland Men’s Division I basketball program, he recently wrote on X.

A 6-foot-10 East Elmhurst (Queens), N.Y., native, Ourigou also holds offers from Seton Hall, St. John’s, Syracuse, Fordham, Temple, Miami, Illinois, UCLA, among other programs, per VerbalCommits.com.

Given his nice size and length, plus his athleticism, it is no wonder that Ourigou, who also suits up for the NY Rens, is a proficient closer around the hoop and fierce defensive presence in the paint.

Moreover, he is a skilled shot blocker who also changes the direction of shots while relentlessly grinding it out game after game, making him a highly sought-after college prospect, per basketball scouts.

Additionally, Ourigou played hoops for the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in the summer of 2024.

The Terrapins posted a 27-9 overall record and went 14-6 in Big 10 Conference action in the 2024-25 campaign.
