Class of 2027 Byron Nelson High School (Texas) guard Romejo Waits has received an offer from Division I Iona Men’s basketball program, yesterday he wrote on X.
In addition to the Gales’ offer, the 6-4 Wait, who also suits up for Texas Impact 4:13, holds an offer from Holy Cross, according to his X account.
Waits is a multi-dimensional player, sporting a slick handle, a dead-on mid-range and deeper outside shot, and good court vision, with the ability to make quick, precise decisions in a pinch, per high school hoop scouts.
Furthermore, Waits nailed 13 threes in one game at the DFW top 60 camp last month.
Though Waits’ recruiting is just beginning, scouts believe this is a good time to get in on the ground floor.
Iona put up a 17-17 overall record and went 12-8 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play in the 2024-25 year.
