Five-Star LuHi Guard Olivia Jones Chooses Vanderbilt University Women’s Hoops

After much speculation, Long Island Lutheran High School (LuHi) senior Olivia Jones, a five-star, 6-foot guard, today has verbally committed to Division I Vanderbilt University Women’s basketball, she announced via Instagram live.

Jones’ decision came down to five colleges–Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Maimi, and North Caolina, according to sources. Of course, Jones picked the Commodores in the end.

Jones, the No. 14-ranked player on Sports Center Next Top 100 list for the Class of 2026, is a three-level scorer who gets out in transition very quickly and can drop buckets with either hand. She is also a great defender.

This summer with her Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) team Exodus, she averaged 16 points, 3.5 rebounds, and two assists per game, while shooting at a 34 percent clip from three-point land.

Vanderbilt posted a 22-11 overall record and went 8-8 in Southeastern Conference (SEC) action in the 2024-25 campaign.
