Siena Women’s Basketball’s Francesca Schiro, who played for Hillsborough High School (N.J.), has earned the Air Force Reserve Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week honor by the league’s Sports Information Directors, today the MAAC announced.
Schiro led the Saints across the board, topping the team in scoring (17.0 points), assists (3.5), and steals (2.5) per game, while also pacing the squad with a 45.5 percent shooting mark from the floor during the week.
She also drained a career- and game-high 28 points on eight-for-16 shooting from the field and two-for-three from beyond the arc against UMass on Saturday, November 8.
Additionally, Schiro, who suited up for AAU-United NJ 17u Power 24, led Siena with six helpers and three thefts in the contest and added four boards to the stat sheet.
Siena is 0-2 so far this season, and will travel to Army West Point Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
