Long Island University Basketball Targets Canadian Big Man Kenan Gilao

Class of 2026 King Heights Academy (ON, Canada) forward Kenan Gilao has received an offer from Division I Long Island University (LIU) Brooklyn Men’s basketball program, he recently wrote on X.

The Sharks’ DI offer is the first for the 6-foot-8 Gilao, who also owns a seven-foot wingspan, as well as a sparkling 3.8 GPA.

Gilao, who suited up for Collective Elite AAU squad, is an offensive presence downlow, as he uses his athleticism to go up for the rebounds and easily put it back, making teammates not afraid to shoot when the opportunity arises. Plus, he holds a nice midrange jumper and is ever-improving his overall game.

LIU is 4-3 to start the season and will host Winthrop Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
